The Department of Agriculture aims to ensure food security and self sufficiency through sustainable agriculture practices, providing farmers upto-date information on schemes and programs of the government, timely solution and redress to farmer’s issues, ensuring lab to land transfer of technology, promoting livelihood development, income enhancement, value addition with linkage to markets; motivating youths to adopt farming as a profession; policy advocacy for production of safe food and protection of plant varieties, fuels, fodders and farmer’s right.
